**NPI Buyer Planner** Location **CA, Burbank** Department **Operations** Employment Type **Full Time** **Crane Aerospace & Electronics** is seeking a **NPI Buyer Planner** to join our team in **Burbank, CA** The NPI (**New Product Introduction**) Buyer Planner is the Operations representative for new product developments. This position is responsible for facilitating the transition of products from development into production. They will work closely with Business/Program Management, Engineering, Site Leaders, Value Stream Managers, MEs and QEs in the creation of the operations plan for the production readiness reviews.

**Job Summary:**

The NPI (New Product Introduction) Buyer Planner is the Operations representative for new product developments. This position is responsible for facilitating the transition of products from development into production. They will work closely with Business/Program Management, Engineering, Site Leaders, Value Stream Managers, MEs and QEs in the creation of the operations plan for the production readiness reviews.

**Essential Functions:**

** Coordinate the NPI/Ops efforts within the Solution**:

o Support IPT teams for new NPI programs

o Determine priorities, remove roadblocks, address engineering issues and ensure actions are completed

o Assist and drive transition to production

o Track and report progress of development builds to the engineering teams

o Provide feedback on design for manufacturability to NPI team

**Identify and support the operational lead for each program or own the operational lead requirements based on level of NPI efforts within the solution**

**Maintain and report on critical NPI metrics:**

o Track OTD (On-time-delivery) and milestone achievement for NPI programs

o Track tasks/action items for completion

**Create and Maintain Program Documentation:**

o Coordinate with manufacturing, quality, CM, and engineering to execute: cell requirements, resource needs, tools and test equipment

o Responsible for ensuring completion of product readiness checklist

o Support Production Readiness Review

**Attend Program Meetings including:**

o PDRs and CDRs (Production/Critical Design Reviews)

o Phase Gate Reviews and Approvals o Program Reviews

o Vertical Reviews

**Report out to Site Leader and Solution Leader on:**

o Program status related to material and schedule (Cost and Delivery)

o Primary liaison between product development and manufacturing

**Minimum Qualifications:**

**** **Experience:** 3 years in a manufacturing environment OR an advanced degree and 2 years in a manufacturing environment experience.

**Knowledge:**Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles, data acquisition or analysis or other information needed to perform the responsibilities.

**Skills/Abilities**: Ability to develop and foster effective working relationships across functions (engineering, quality, manufacturing, etc.); Strong negotiation skills and ability to influence; Ability to run multiple concurrent projects and work well under pressure; Excellent computer and data analysis skills.

** Education/Certification:** BS Degree in an engineering discipline or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.

**Preferred Qualifications:**

Experience in program management or program management tools

Understanding of ITAR rules and requirements
