7 hours a day / 184 days a year

QUALIFICATIONS:

1. High school diploma or GED required. 

2. Sixty (60) college credits or a passing score on the ParaPro Assessment exam required.

3. Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.

4. Ability to operate standard office equipment and computers required.

5. Experience handling confidential records preferred.

6. Ability to work harmoniously with staff and students.

REPORTS TO:

Principal

JOB GOAL:

To provide supervision and guidance for students who are unable to be in the regular classroom due to discipline problems.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Supervise and monitor all the students in the CAPP program.

1. Ensure that all students have, are able to and do complete all assigned work, as needed. 

1. Work with individual students or small groups of students to reinforce learning of material or skills initially introduced by the teacher. 

1. Distributes and collects workbooks, papers and other materials for instruction, and returns completed work to appropriate teacher. 

1. Guides independent study, enrichment work and remedial work set up and assigned by the teacher. 

1. Maintains the same high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality of information about students as is expected of fully licensed teachers. 

1. Takes attendance and lunch count on a daily basis. 

1. Keeps daily documentation on students' behavior and notifies teacher. 

1. Performs other related duties as required by the Principal.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:

Work year, salary and benefits as established by the Board.

EVALUATION:

Performance of this job shall be evaluated by the building principal in accordance with

provisions of the Board's policy on evaluation of classified personnel.
