Crawford Company is Hiring a Team Lead I - Daily Operations Near Atlanta, GA

Excellence In Everything We Touch Position Summary Under the direction of the Operational Manager and Assistant Director of Operations, leads a unit of Client Dedicated Adjusters. This self-driven and motivated Team Leader will be responsible for supervising, overseeing, leading, and motivating our team of Field and or Desk Adjusters. The Team Leader will be tasked with ensuring the team meets the timeline of the client, follows the client’s best claim practices, and develops team coordination between the field adjuster and desk adjuster. The individual in this position will be charged with inspiring and motivating the team to achieve production while at the same time meeting quality assurance goals. As a Team Leader, you will participate in Crawford management meetings to give an account of your Team activities and adjuster individual performances.
Responsibilities
  • Leads a team of adjusters either in the field or virtually deployed. May at times be the direct supervisor to the adjusters depending on the capacity of deployments.
  • Continually identifies training opportunities for adjusters and implements strategies to enhance performance. Creates improvement initiatives for our onboarding and roster management processes.
  • Directs team activities, assigns claims, and tracks claim inventories. Monitor performance and gives direction with complex claims handling.
  • Communicating and interacting effectively within a team environment. Leads the team in meeting various targets and deadlines for projects as they’re assigned.
  • Assigns work ensuring a balanced workload for the adjusters on the team. Recognize and acknowledge the skills of key team members and utilize their strengths to the benefit of the team. Recommends candidates for cross-training and advanced training.
  • Administers onboarding compliance training using our in-house training guidelines.
  • Promotes a good public image of the Company.
  • Upholds the Crawford Code of Business Conduct at all times.
  • Participates in special projects or performs duties in other areas as requested.
  • Trains and develops new employees.
  • Travel as necessary for extended periods of time.
  • Continuous interaction with adjusters and the client to exchange information; decisions may require analysis of alternative courses of action.
  • This position would be in continual interaction with all levels of management.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred or equivalent work experience.
  • Previous experience as an Adjuster, Supervisor, Adjuster in Charge, Manager, or Team Manager. Previous supervisory experience desirable.
  • At least two years of experience in catastrophic industry/events; experience is preferred.
  • Thorough understanding of the insurance coverage’s, insurance terminology and practices and the claims handling process.
  • Demonstrated the ability to supervise the work of others.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Good computer skills: proficient with Microsoft Excel and Word. Expertise in use of property claims handling software.
  • Effective interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks, exhibit flexibility, meet deadlines through appropriate prioritization and decision-making skills.
  • Capable of providing adequate guidance on complex claim cases and can negotiate settlements effectively.

  • Stooping kneeling, crouching, crawling, standing, sitting, walking, pushing, and pulling, is relative to office files, etc.
  • Expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word is required, as well as the ability to convey detailed/important instructions in an accurate manner.
  • Ability to frequently talk or hear on a telephone and receive detailed information through oral communication is required.
  • Exertion of up to 20 pounds of force is occasionally required and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.
  • Visual activity requirements are those of Clerical Administrative. This is a minimum standard for use with those whose work deals largely with preparing and analyzing data and figures, accounting, computer terminals, extensive reading, operation of machines, and using measurement devices.
