Crawford Consulting Services, Inc. is Hiring a Healthcare Project/Program Manager Near Cannonsburg, PA

Job Description
Crawford Consulting Services is looking to hire a Senior Project Manager with healthcare construction experience in Pittsburgh, PA. The Senior Project Manager (SPM) will report to the Senior Program Manager and will be the primary on-site owner’s representative during construction of a replacement hospital at the AHN Canonsburg Hospital site. Duties include coordination of the planning, design, and construction processes necessary to deliver a new 60-bed hospital and connected 50,000 SF medical office building, as well as associated central utility plant, parking, roadway improvements, and heliport. The SPM will be responsible for coordinating the project delivery team, consisting of other CRES staff and consultants, AHN’s clinical stakeholders, AHN’s executive leadership team, all third-party design consultants, and all third-party contractors and vendors. Planning and design for the new facility will begin immediately (April 2024), with construction expected to commence in January 2025 or earlier. The project will be completed in phases with delivery of the MOB, the new hospital, and demolition of the existing facility all occurring on separate timelines. All construction is expected to be complete in 2028.
Desired Job Experience
  • Strong understanding of land development concepts, such as entitlement, land development approvals, permitting, public utility coordination, etc.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects.
  • Manage Architect/Engineers, contractors and respective contracts.
  • Coordinate schedule and budget information and must be able to identify when the need to intervene arises.
  • Ability to review project documents (drawings, specifications, RFI’s, schedules, etc.) and evaluate the completeness for the respective phase of design and/or construction.
  • Responsible for managing the quality of the project(s) and manage facility to ensure successful completion as it relates to “on time” and within budget.
  • Must familiarize and develop a strategy to coordinate the requirements/needs of all interested parties.
  • Must be able to analyze requested changes and to manage the change process.
  • Responsible for plan and project coordination efforts separate line other duties as determined by the program and departmental requirements Monitoring the contractor’s schedule.
  • Prepare overall project schedule to measure contractor’s schedule performance.
  • Coordinating communications between contractor, client, site personnel, and consulting engineers.
  • Prepare punch list(s) and monitor completion by the contractor(s).
  • Initiating on site project meetings as needed.
  • Knowledge of and experience with construction project management software and technology. Experience with e-Builder, Revit, SmartSheet and scheduling software preferred.
  • Conduct meetings at the job site to improve project communications and reduce interferences.
  • Very strong verbal and written communication skills.
Desired Degree
  • Four-year college degree is preferred.
Desired Major
  • Engineering, Architecture, Building Construction, Construction Science, Construction Management, or a Bachelor of Science in a business-related field.
Education and/or Experience
  • Must have a Minimum 15-years of experience as a construction project manager, including healthcare construction experience and experience constructing and renovating projects with valuation over $75MM. The successful candidate should be an accomplished project planner and organizer and should provide references supporting his/her leadership experience and competence.
Certifications, Licenses, and Registrations
Industry recognized Project and Program Management certifications is a plus, e.g. Project Management Professional (PMP), Program Management Professional (PgMP), Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM).
General Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Demonstrated experience managing project cost/budget, scope, schedule, and resources, managing vendors, and overseeing formal planning, tracking, and reporting project performance.
  • Previous healthcare experience.
  • Knowledge of and experience with construction project management software and technology. Experience with e-Builder, Revit, SmartSheet and scheduling software preferred.
