Position Summary
Provides full coverage for all utilized operating rooms, the obstetrical unit, and treatment rooms as case scheduling and patient needs warrants; general, regional and monitored anesthesia care services in all locations identified by policy and procedures.
*This position rotates on-call CRNA coverage
Duties, Tasks and Responsibilities
*Provides preoperative consultation services for patients receiving services and/or consultation/co-management of high risk surgical and medical patients as requested by the attending physicians.
*Provides education and competency training regarding intubation/extubation and airway management.
*Provides urgent and emergency anesthesia services, including emergency airway management, for patients including distressed neonates.
*Provides consultation services to the Medical Staff including Peer Review.
*Ensures that informed anesthesia consents are secured from patients for any and all procedures requiring informed anesthesia consent and cooperates fully with other medical, nursing, and administrative departments in all matters affecting patient care, personnel, supplies and regulations as it pertains to surgical and anesthesia care. *Performs other duties as assigned.
