Job DescriptionOur client is looking for a Business Development Manager with experience in the A&D community, Interior Design, commercial sales, fabrication and builder programs. We are a premium surfacing manufacturer needing a polished professional to call on Architects, Designers, and high-end retail showrooms that will aid us in getting our surfacing material specified and sold. Fast-paced, exciting opportunity with an industry leader and innovator. Must be based in LA/Orange County, So California.
Travel is required.
The CADSC Designer Services Representative/ Business Development Manager [DSR/BDM] role is a field-based sales and support position primarily responsible for sales activities from lead generation to product and color specification, along with, servicing high end retail showrooms in the Los Angeles metro and Coastal areas of So California. Interior Designers and other design professionals comprise a customer base of critical importance to the company. The DSR/BDM exists to ensure - through education, support services, and consultative selling practices - that these professionals help specify surfacing products and/or colors on their projects, and further that those specifications translate directly into sales of company surfacing products. Throughout the specification development process, the DSR/BDM must also determine which products are the most appropriate for the project given the application being addressed and the needs of the end user. It is equally important to continue to place the company's surfacing materials in the offices of design professionals and retail showrooms.
In order to properly execute this role, the DSR / BDM is expected to regularly and customarily work up to 80% of their working time in the field.
The DSR / BDM is an integral part of the comapny CADSC sales team and, as such, must always keep in mind the objective of selling Hyundai L&C USA products and services.
Responsibilities: Establish and maintain good working relationships with an assigned territory of Interior Designers, other design professionals, and some high-end Kitchen and Bath or Flooring showrooms - the DSR’s customer base. Actively seek-out design professionals and retail showrooms to add to customer base. Conduct regular calls at a frequency established by the DSR/BDM based upon numerous factors including specification potential, wholesale, and retail sales potential. Consult with design professionals to prepare proper job specifications that not only serve the architect and his client, the owner, but also ensure that the company will secure the job through the contractor in order to increase sales of our surfacing products. Prepare and/or present educational seminars including, but not limited to ASID-approved CEU courses. Act as an information and education resource for customer base - either know the answer or find it. Provide feedback to Sales Director and Product Management on current products and on gaps in the current product portfolio. Be a product expert - able to provide your customer base with practical surfacing /system recommendations. Manage an expense budget including the discretionary use of no-charge samples and local marketing budgets. Manage the lead generation process from origination of a lead, including dissemination of the leads to the appropriate Sales Director, and/or Business Development Manager for execution.
QualificationsDSR/BDMs are accountable for growth in their assigned territory and will be called upon to partner with and sometimes lead sales teams that pursue key projects. Reflect a positive attitude; be enthusiastic, friendly and professional. Demonstrate a strong desire to succeed. Be known as a self-starter, energetic and motivated.
Bachelor’s degree plus one to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
You must possess the ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, and technical procedures; ability to write reports, and business correspondence; ability to effective present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers and the general public.
Certifications or designations are recognized by architects and signify a commitment to professionalism in representing the company.
