A leading manufacturer in the material handling and custom engineered products industry is currently seeking an experienced controller for its corporate office in the southwest suburbs of Chicago.
Controller ResponsibilitiesThe controller is a significant member of the management team and is responsible for overseeing and coordinating all aspects of Administrative, Accounting, Credit & Collections, Human Resources and Management Information System functions.

Controller ResponsibilitiesThe controller is a significant member of the management team and is responsible for overseeing and coordinating all aspects of Administrative, Accounting, Credit & Collections, Human Resources and Management Information System functions.
Key Job Responsibilities
- Supervise and manage all accounting reporting including billing, inventory, AR, AP, payroll, cash flow, and financial reporting.
- Coordinate human resource functions including payroll, benefits, and adherence to company policies, and local, state and federal laws.
- Maintain accounting workflow throughout departments; review and enhance accounting procedures to increase efficiencies and training amongst departments
- Recommend changes or innovations to departmental processes, policies, and programs (hardware and software).
- Facilitate relationship with outside CPA firm and oversee engagements with them.
- 3 or more years' experience as a Controller in a manufacturing industry.
- 5 or more years’ experience in Administrative or Accounting Department in a similar industry.
- Bachelor of Science degree in finance or accounting.
- CPA or CMA preferred.
- Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures, and human resources.
- Experience in financial reporting
- Strong communication skills both verbal and written.
- Technical expertise in utilizing various software systems.
