Job Description

The ideal candidate for this Senior Project Lead position is a consummate project manager with experience managing complex projects, managing people, and growing programs.

The Senior Project Lead will support the U.S. Department of State and foreign government-supported programs promoting the safe and secure adoption of nuclear technologies globally.

Reporting to a Program Manager, the Senior Project Lead will play a key role in designing and executing projects within a complex portfolio. This includes developing and implementing various activities such as trainings, workshops, study tours, online engagements, and technical exchanges, ensuring alignment with both CRDF Global and funder objectives.

Role Details:

  • Provides oversight and direction to a team of Project Leads and support staff to implement programming, including ensuring team members follow project management best practices, making project assignments, and managing workflows.
  • Develops and manages a portfolio of complex or large projects (valued up to $2M). Designs and implements project plans using best practices for project management (for multiple projects) that includes development of charters, work breakdown structures, consultant statements of work, schedules, deliverables, monitoring and evaluation plans, and project budgets; prepares and submits reports and proposed modifications if necessary. Conducts project forecasting and financial and change management.
  • Manages responses to Requests for Proposals under IDIQ contracts and manages the implementation and close out of Task Orders.
  • Manages project budgets, including planning, administration, and financial reporting of project expenses upon closeout.
  • Manages high-level customer and stakeholder relationships and networks on behalf of the program.
  • Supervises staff, including recruiting, hiring, and on-boarding; manages their workload and establishes work and development goals; and provides feedback on performance standards.
  • Develops concepts and new project ideas as part of capture and proposal development process.
  • Represents program or projects at external events.
  • Supports other programs and staff, as required.
  • Travels within the U.S. and internationally as appropriate (0-15%).
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in related field, Master's preferred.
  • 5 years of robust project management experience and relevant work experience in a related field such as nuclear security, nuclear technologies, nonproliferation, or international security.
  • 3 years project team oversight experience; supervisory experience preferred
  • Demonstrates strong customer relationship management, communication, diplomatic, and negotiating skills and good judgment.
  • Experience managing activities such as trainings, workshops, study tours, or expert advising and consulting.
  • Excellent organizational skills, ability to meet deadlines.
  • Familiarity with other countries and cultures, ability to work within matrixed global team.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, and ability to work with more advanced software, such as Microsoft Project is preferred

Salary & Benefits: The base pay range for this position is $74,720 to $93,400. The determination of salaries in this job classification depend on a number of factors, including, but not limited to, relevant candidate experience, job-related knowledge, qualifications and skills. In addition, we have a comprehensive benefits package, which includes medical, dental, and vision insurance; 403(b) retirement savings plan; unlimited paid time off; education reimbursement; student loan paydown and an in-network deductible reimbursement that pays up to $10,000the difference card programdepending on level of coverage.
