Our client, a well-known retailer west of Boston, is looking for a Junior Designer to join their Studio Team in a freelance to full-time capacity!
The Junior Designer will be joining their in-house studio team that is focused on production and design services for the larger organization. You will be developing original designs, reviewing edits, executing production-ready materials, pre-flighting and releasing files to vendors.
While this role is heavy on the print side, it's really important to the team that you have exposure to After Effects/motion work as there are projects that come up in that space.
Key responsibilities are:

• Translate strategic direction to create high-quality original designs within the visual identity system
• Ensure final graphics and layouts are visually strong and in alignment with the brand campaign
• Work with copywriters and art directors to produce concepts and manage design across all components
• Apply direction and feedback to enhance designs
• Produce print and digital materials including direct mail, catalogs, emails, banners and video
• Create print and digital layouts, make edits, test and preflight files and release final assets

The ideal Junior Designer will have:

• 1 years of experience in a design role; retail or corporate experience a plus!
• A portfolio showcasing your work across print and digital
• Basic understanding of After Effects (creating videos from storyboards ideally)
• Expertise in Indesign
• Ability to manage multiple projects at once with different timelines

This is a hybrid (Tues-Thurs), 40 hours per week opportunity for the next 6 months with the goal to go full-time for the right person.
