AR Collections Specialist Job Overview:

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented AR Collections Specialist to join our fast-paced Accounts Receivable Department. In this role, you will be responsible for managing and collecting on assigned accounts to reduce delinquency and improve cash flow. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, the ability to resolve discrepancies, and a commitment to providing excellent customer service.

AR Collections Specialist Key Responsibilities:

• Collection Activities: Conduct collection calls and/or send correspondence to customers in a timely and professional manner to collect overdue payments and achieve departmental goals.
• Customer Service: Provide outstanding customer service by addressing collection issues, processing customer refunds, reviewing and processing account adjustments, and resolving client discrepancies and short payments.
• Account Monitoring: Monitor and maintain assigned accounts, including making customer calls, performing account adjustments, writing off small balances, and reconciling customer accounts.
• Delinquency Reduction: Take accountability for reducing delinquency rates on assigned accounts by ensuring timely and effective collection activities.
• Support AR Department: Perform various tasks and duties as assigned to support the overall objectives of the Accounts Receivable Department.
• Collaboration: Work closely with the sales team and senior management when necessary to expedite the collection process and address any escalated issues.

AR Collections Specialist Qualifications:

• Proven experience as a Collections Specialist or similar role in a collections department.
• Strong understanding of collections processes and best practices.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to handle difficult customer interactions with professionalism and tact.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with accounting software.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

AR Collections Specialist Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in the manufacturing industry.
• Familiarity with INFOR ERP or any other systems.
