Overview Of The Collections Specialist Role
- Reviews open accounts for collection efforts.
- Makes outbound collection calls in a professional manner while keeping and improving customer relations.
- Resolves client-billing problems and rescues accounts receivable delinquency, applying good customer service in a timely manner.
- Collects customer payments in accordance with payment due dates.
- Identifies issues attributing to account delinquency and discuss them with management.
- Collections Specialist reviews and monitors assigned accounts and all applicable collection reports.
- Provides timely follow-up on payment arrangements.
- Mails correspondence to customers to encourage payment of delinquent accounts.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and familiarity with office equipment
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment
- Collections Specialist requires attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Collections Specialist need to have at least 1-2 years of experience.
- Degree not required, but preferred.
