Job Summary: Our client is seeking an experienced and dynamic Controller to join their team in Cincinnati, Ohio. The Controller will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of financial management, including financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and internal controls. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting, leadership skills, and the ability to drive financial strategy to support the company's growth and success.
Responsibilities
- Manage the day-to-day operations of the accounting department, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and financial reporting.
- Ensure timely and accurate preparation of financial statements in accordance with GAAP standards.
- Develop and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Lead the annual budgeting and forecasting process, working closely with department heads to develop realistic and actionable financial plans.
- Analyze financial data and performance metrics to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement.
- Prepare and present financial reports to senior management and stakeholders, providing insights and recommendations for strategic decision-making.
- Coordinate and support the annual audit process, liaising with external auditors and addressing any audit findings or recommendations.
- Manage cash flow and liquidity to support operational needs and strategic initiatives.
- Lead and develop a team of accounting professionals, providing guidance, training, and performance feedback.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. CPA certification preferred.
- Proven experience (8 years) in a senior accounting or financial management role, preferably in a corporate environment.
- Thorough understanding of GAAP principles, financial reporting requirements, and internal controls.
- Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a high-performing team.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail.
- Advanced proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, NetSuite) and MS Excel.
- Effective communication skills, with the ability to present complex financial information to diverse audiences.
- Strategic thinker with the ability to drive financial strategy and contribute to overall business objectives.
- Experience in manufacturing, retail, or similar industries is a plus.
