Our client, established nearly 20 years ago, is a leader in innovative waste management technology. They are currently expanding and rolling out a new technology this month. As a Cost Accountant, you will play a pivotal role in the growth and expansion of the finance and accounting department.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain product cost metrics, including Standard Costs and Actual Costs, ensuring manufacturing cost margins are met
- Analyze actual manufacturing costs and prepare reports comparing standard and actual costs
- Manage inventory cost by reconciling cycle counts and period-end balances, adjusting inventory reserve balances as necessary
- Assist in month-end closing by preparing necessary journal entries and analyzing inventory evaluations
- Contribute to company-wide budgeting reports and participate in the budgeting process
- Develop systems and procedures for cost accounting functions, recommend cost-effective solutions, and manage the Monthly Close process
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
- 3 years of cost accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing operation
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and ERP systems like Oracle NetSuite
- Thorough understanding of U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and accounting procedures
- Strong analytical, organizational, and attention-to-detail skills; ability to manage confidential information and interpret data
