Key Responsibilities of the General Ledger Staff Accountant :

• Recording Transactions : All financial transactions are recorded in the general ledger using double-entry accounting, where each transaction affects at least two accounts (one debit and one credit)
• Posting to General Ledger Accounts : Transactions from journals (such as sales, purchases, and cash receipts) are posted to the respective accounts in the general ledger.
• Preparing a Trial Balance : At the end of an accounting period, a trial balance is prepared by listing all general ledger accounts and their balances.
• Correcting errors : Errors are corrected by marking the necessary adjusting entries. This may involve reversing incorrect entries and posting the correct ones.

Preferred Experience for the Accounts Payable Specialist :

• Proven experience working with General Ledger or in a similar role.
• Familiarity with accounting principles and practices.
• Experience with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP).
• Associate’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field (preferred).

Annual Salary : $43,000 to $49,000
