Growing developer headquartered in Metro Atlanta is seeking to add a Senior Accountant to their team. Reporting directly to the Corporate Controller, this position offers a strong path of progression and increased responsibilities as the Company grows in a fast paced environment.

• Participate in month-end and year-end close processes.
• Prepare financial statements.
• Reconcile general ledger accounts monthly.
• Monthly journal entries.
• Posts Intercompany journal entries on both sides for cross-company enabled locations and to one location if not cross-company enabled
• Works with appropriate accounting contact persons for Intercompany transactions
• Monitors pending Intercompany requests (either Sending or Receiving) and provides status updates to parties who will need to action such requests
• Review and follow-up on all phases of the monthly closing process to ensure the books are error free and closed according to established schedules.
• Prepare monthly account and bank reconciliations as well as timely follow-up and resolution of reconciling items to ensure accurate reporting and ledger maintenance.
• Support the year-end close and the annual audits.
• Work closely with accounting leadership and other finance professionals on process improvement initiatives.
• Make recommendations to accounting leadership on ways to improve processes.
• Ability to work well under pressure and prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree (Accounting or Finance)
• 3 years related work experience in accounting, including month end close process
• Experience working in the construction industry
• Detail-oriented while maintaining high productivity
