Creative Financial Staffing is Hiring a Senior Accountant - Technical Accounting Near Portland, OR
Senior Accountant – Technical Accounting & Financial ReportingCFS is working with a local employer, seeking a Senior Accountant. This position reports to the Senior Accounting Manager and provides a wide range of accounting support including balance sheet reconciliations, financial reporting, journal entries and month-end close related duties. This position also performs complex technical accounting activities and financial analyses.

- Prepare and review internal, external, and manufacturer financial statements.
- Research and analyze technical accounting issues and ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Maintain in-depth knowledge of GAAP and prepare financial reports, including the cash flow statement.
- Manage month-end closing procedures, reconcile balance sheets, and perform trend reviews.
- Analyze financial data, identify profit improvement opportunities, and recommend risk mitigation strategies.
- Conduct research and complete special projects independently, demonstrating strong judgment.
- Develop and maintain accounting policies, ensuring consistency and adherence to GAAP.
- Review agreements for accounting implications and report findings to management.
- Support external audits and interact effectively with audit teams.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to implement process improvements and reporting initiatives.
- Manage workload, prioritize tasks, and communicate proactively with management.
- Provide excellent customer service to internal team members.
- Apply strong problem-solving skills to create efficient and sustainable workflows.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting (required)
- CPA is a plus but not required
- 3 years of accounting experience
- Expert understanding of US GAAP
- Excellent analytical, written, and oral communication skills
- Independent problem-solving abilities with a strong attention to detail
- Ability to see the big picture while focusing on detail and accuracy
- Ability to work effectively in a cross-functional setting
