Creative Venture Consulting, LLC is Hiring an Early Learning Center Special Education Teacher Near Atmore, AL

The Early Learning Center Special Education Teacher is responsible for leading, teaching, inspiring, and providing guidance while effectively overseeing the daily operation of the companies Early Learning Center. This job description is not an all-inclusive list of the duties and responsibilities of this position. The Early Learning Center Special Education Teacher is expected to perform all duties and responsibilities necessary to meet the goal and objectives of applicable programs.

The Early Learning Center Special Education Teacher is expected to live the Purpose and Values of the company and will go beyond the call of duty.

Primary Responsibilities of the Early Learning Center Special Education Teacher

  • Teaches lessons to students and make accommodations for their learning style or disability.
  • Provides support for students both academically and personally where necessary.
  • Teaches and reinforces socially acceptable behaviors.
  • Keeps accurate information about student progress that can be helpful during routine education assessments.
  • Collaborates with general education teachers and other specialists like speech therapists, behavioral health, occupational therapists, social workers, and physical therapists.
  • Serves as an advocate for a student with a disability.
  • Helps promote inclusive classrooms.
  • Provides appropriate testing assistance.
  • Works alongside ABA intervention team.
  • Respects students and treats them with dignity in the learning environment.
  • Prepares lessons in advance with the needs of learners in mind.
  • Designs activities to achieve the learning goals of the students.
  • Writes and evaluates IEPs and trains staff on appropriate teaching methods and skills to use with students.
  • Communicates with parents and works alongside the intervention staff to develop and implement BIPs.
  • Supervises the appropriate staff to include, but not limited to, general supervision, performance evaluations, leave approvals, and timesheets, and attendance records.
  • Brings daily inspiration to students and staff, creates a fun, loving, learning environment where meeting the needs of the children is the primary goal.
  • Creates a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interest of the students.
  • Prepares for classes and shows written evidence of preparation.
  • Uses a variety of instructional techniques, strategies, and media related to the lessons.
  • Assists in the implementation of all policies governing student conduct and develops reasonable rules of behavior. Maintains order in a fair and just manner.
  • Instructs students, individually, and in groups, using various teaching methods designed for young children.
  • Cultivates and maintains excellent communication with students, Education department/school staff, and parents.
  • Organizes and leads activities designed to promote physical, mental, and social development.
  • Prepares students for success as they move on to elementary school.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by appropriate person.

Day-to-day Responsibilities

  • Observes and evaluates student performance, behavior, social development, and physical health.
  • Attends staff meetings as scheduled.
  • Establishes and enforces rules for behavior and for maintaining order among to students.
  • Keeps parents up to date on their child’s progress and any problems occurring in the classroom.
  • Praises and supports children using positive reinforcement techniques.
  • Acts as a leader among staff and parents, instilling confidence in ability to guide the program.

Education/License/Certification and Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Education with an ESE endorsement required.
  • Must have a Class A or B Early Childhood –or—Elementary Education teacher certification or obtain within one hundred eighty (180) days of employment.
  • Two (2) years of previous experience working with students with special needs in a classroom setting required.
  • Must possess certification of “Mandatory Reporter Training” or obtain during the first week of employment.
  • Must possess and maintain First Aid/CPR certification or obtain within ninety (90) days of employment.
  • Specialization in Special Education would be advantageous.
