As a Senior Project Manager, you will work within our Delivery and Alignment organization. Depending on your assignment, you may work within the Agile Delivery group or PMO.

In the Agile delivery group, you will work with cross-functional Agile teams to ensure the iterative delivery of high-quality solutions that meet the evolving needs of our customers and maximize business value. Agile Delivery Project Managers lead, organize, and motivate Agile teams to achieve a high level of performance, delivering value frequently, through increment release cycles.

In the PMO group, you will lead cross-functional teams in project and program delivery using various methodologies such as Agile, Hybrid or Waterfall. You will meet the evolving needs of our customers and maximize business value.

Outcomes and Activities:
  • This position will work from home; occasional planned travel to an assigned Southfield, Michigan office location may be required. However, this position is permitted to work at a Southfield, Michigan office location if requested by the team member.
  • Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of projects using Credit Acceptance's proven methodologies.
  • Act as the primary liaison between Product Management, Engineering, and other stakeholders, fostering clear communication, managing expectations, and resolving any impediments or blockers to the progress of projects.
  • Depending on your assignment, you may be required to conduct Agile ceremonies for cross functional teams.
  • Track progress and provide regular updates to stakeholders using tools to include roadmaps, release plans, burndown charts and project/program schedules.
  • Proactively identify and mitigate project risks and dependencies, leveraging best practices to maintain momentum and help the teams deliver incremental value on a cadence basis.
  • Facilitates meetings and produces detailed meeting minutes.
  • Produces clear and concise deliverables such as: schedules, written correspondence, risk mitigations, user acceptance testing and implementation plans.
  • Transitions process to operational owners and go to market teams, upon a marketable release or the projects closure.
  • Coordinate and manage complex projects, engaging with several cross functional teams simultaneously.
  • Communicate project status and updates to stakeholders and senior management.
  • Understands and uses critical thinking and professional judgement to make modifications to standard methodologies when applicable.
  • Guide and support team members in implementing best practices and root causing/resolving lessons learned.
  • Coordinate with people managers to ensure appropriate staffing levels and skills are available for projects.
  • Monitor team capacity and workload to ensure teams are not overcommitted.
  • Establish and oversee metrics to ensure the success of strategic objectives and monitor the overall health of programs and projects.
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement within the organization, encouraging innovation, collaboration, and accountability among teams.
  • Manages project costs and reports to key stakeholders as appropriate.
  • Maintains accurate and informative project information in central repository.
Leadership:
  • Acts as a role model. Mentors and coaches junior members on project management and agile best practices and following the Credit Acceptance methodology.
  • Leads efforts to improve processes within their department and collaborates cross functionally to improve adjacent processes.
  • Actively participates in department efforts to increase team building and improve employee engagement.
  • Actively participates in team meetings and presents as a role model who embodies our PRIDE values.
Competencies: The following items detail how you will be successful in this role.
  • Facilitation Techniques: Organize, support and/or conduct workshops, meetings, presentations specific to the objectives of each, problem to be solve, and needs of the audience.
  • Impact Analysis: Understand the rationale behind and how changes impact the enterprise and/or applications and across the technical ecosystem.
  • Risk Management: Conducting risk management planning, identification, analysis, response planning, and controlling risk on a project.
  • Schedule Management: Performing the work required to manage the completion of the project on time. Where necessary, apply Agile schedule management techniques, including sprint planning, release planning and iterative delivery to ensure that project milestones are met on time.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Effectively communicate project progress, risks and changes to stakeholders using Agile and SAFe reporting methods, such as burndown charts, velocity, and Program Increment (PI) objectives.
  • Communication and Active Listening: Organize, support and/or conduct workshops, meetings, and presentations specific to the objectives of the project and the needs of the team. Utilize the CAC best practices to facilitate good communication. The art of Active Listening is key to every role. Therefore, seek to understand what is being said as well as the surrounding context. Interpret non-verbal communications well.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • 7 years' overall experience in project management
  • Experience presenting to leadership
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Agile methodologies such as Scrum, Kanban or Lean, including facilitating Agile ceremonies, managing Agile teams, and promoting Agile values and principles
Preferred:
  • 7 years' experience managing IT Projects
  • 7 years' experience in process evaluation and process improvement
  • PMP Certification
  • Agile Certification related to Agile Project Management (PMI), Scrum, SAFe or Kanban
  • Familiarization with Jira, Confluence and Microsoft Teams
  • Experience in the Financial Industry
Targeted Compensation: $123,000 - $133,000 base salary an annual bonus plan
