Position Title: Loan Administration Specialist
Position Description: SUMMARY This position plays an important service role by providing outstanding service to internal and external members. Loan Administration Specialist provides administrative and clerical support to the loan department. This position obtains loan documents and collects member information, performs all modifications and ensures compliance in addition to processing loan and/or onboarding loans, processes title documentation, and assists with claims relating to credit disability insurance and payment protection. This position assists in the protection of credit union assets by performing the following activities for the Loan Department.
Responsibilities include, but not limited to:
➢ Obtains lien instruments on motor vehicles pledged as collateral security. Contacts members, dealers, and other financial institutions for titles that are used as security. Disburses checks to the Department of Motor Vehicle Branches in the appropriate jurisdictions to ensure our lien is added to the instrument. Notates and files perfected titles.
➢ Performs quality control checks regularly to ensure credit union has perfected titles for auto loans.
➢ Releases the title to the appropriate party under the conditions of the Credit Union.
➢ Handles title issues through MSS as well as the credit union’s attorney as needed.
➢ Proficient in the electronic titling of vehicle liens through the online ELT modules. Visits local DMV office as needed.
➢ Meets with and/or calls members who may have questions regarding but not limited to titling / liens.
➢ Provides assistance with filing, inputting data to computer, recording information as required, answering telephones, photocopy, faxing, typing letters, and general office routine.
➢ Recording and discharging home equity mortgage documents as needed.
➢ Provides loan payoff letter for all consumer lending products.
➢ Works with Consumer Lending Operations Lead for indirect titles.
➢ Assists Consumer Lending Operations Lead with questions from MSS Consumer Leading Team as needed.
➢ Assists the Consumer Leading Operations Lead with testing of new products on the lending and core platforms.
➢ Participates in required regulatory and credit union training programs; and receives a passing grade on all required tests.
➢ Assists department staff with the various activities involved in Lending and performs such additional duties as might be assigned from time to time.
Qualifications/Requirements:
➢ High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
➢ Plus one to two years related experience and/or training
This individual should be available for scheduling during all Credit Union operating hours. Staffing assignments are periodically adjusted to meet business needs. The person selected for this position could be permanently or temporarily transferred to another office in the same geographic region at any time.
