About Credo

Taking its name from the Latin word meaning ‘I believe,’ the Credo Community Choir is a 120-member non-auditioned, mixed chorus based in Dallas, Texas. Founded and conducted by Dr. Jonathan Palant, Credo’s mission is rooted not only in the power of music, but also in community, learning, equality, and in sharing one’s fortunes with others. Credo, now in its twelfth season, has performed throughout the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex and has undertaken concert tours to Argentina, Australia, Cambodia, Cuba, Estonia, Finland, Iceland, Ireland, Latvia, Portugal, Morocco, Uruguay, and Vietnam. Having made its Carnegie Hall debut in June 2016, Credo was proud to return to the historic venue for a performance of Taylor Scott Davis’ Magnificat on May 25, 2024.

Purpose

The Credo Community Choir is seeking a Grants Coordinator to spearhead the grant writing and managing efforts on behalf of the organization. A significant proportion of Credo’s operating costs are funded by grants; as such, this position is vital to the health of our organization and the continuation of our mission. The Grants Coordinator shall serve as the primary fundraiser on behalf of Credo, but will work closely with the Artistic Director and founder to steward donors. The Grants Coordinator shall foster relationships with funders, compile data and complete compliance reporting, and support strategic planning and special project initiatives. This position requires strong writing, data analysis, program budgeting, and project management skills, with an emphasis on grant compliance and outcome measurement. This is an independent contractor position.

Key Responsibilities

· Grant research, proposal development and submission

· Develop a shared grants calendar to track submission deadlines, notification date(s), reporting due dates, etc. for all potential funders that align with Credo’s mission.

· Prepare and organize materials for proposals and narratives, with support from the artistic director, board president, treasurer, and others as needed

· Submit and monitor grant applications

· Maintain records in Credo shared drive, including but not limited to creation of a grants calendar for submission deadlines, notification date(s), reporting due dates, etc., all grant support documents, detailed records of progress toward grant submissions, dates of submissions, next steps, needed thank you notes and acknowledgement and all submission/app passwords

· Represent the organization at regularly scheduled check-in meetings with funders

· Forecast grant application opportunities to support future growth

· This is an independent contractor position; occasional daytime and evening meetings will be required.

Qualifications

· Keen ability to work collaboratively among a team of dedicated volunteers who are each uniquely passionate about Credo

· Bachelor’s degree or 5-7 years’ work experience with not-for-profit administration, grant writing, or fundraising; 2-4 years of experience in fundraising, grant writing, or grants management preferred

· Experience with arts organizations preferred

· Demonstrated experience in analytical and persuasive writing skills

· Strong administrative skills and self-motivated with the ability to set priorities and manage multiple tasks under minimal supervision in effective and efficient manner

· Intermediate to expert skills in electronic records, forms, bookkeeping, and grant submission portals

· Ability to work under pressure and respond to deadlines without sacrificing quality
