Reports to: Chemistry/Immunology Supervisor

CBREX - 19086

Under supervision of the chemistry supervisor, applies practical and theoretical knowledge of clinical chemistry as it applies to point of care testing activities. Performs other duties as assigned. Position overlaps all areas where point of care testing takes place, on-site, and off-site.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities Includes the Following:

  • Understands and adheres to the hospital Performance Standards, Policies and Behaviors.
  • Oversees all aspects of point of care operation and testing,
  • Point of care validation and quality measures
  • Oversees the quality assurance and proficiency testing programs for point of care.
  • Ensures the point of care instrument interface is maintained and operational.
  • Performs dictionary maintenance on point of care interface.
  • Acts as liaison between lab and nursing leadership as it relates to point of care testing to assure regulatory compliance of point of care testing personnel.
  • Review all point of care reports.
  • Ensure regulatory requirements are met regarding proper use of point of care testing.
  • Assists with staff training as required.
  • Performs all other related duties as assigned.

Education & Experience Requirements

  • New York State Medical Technologist license required.
  • B.S. degree in Medical Technology or Laboratory Science.
  • ASCP or NCA certification preferred.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $80,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
