Plant Quality Intern
The Plant Quality Intern will be responsible with assisting South Terminal Corrective Action Preventative Action (CAPA) owners with carrying out open CAPA items and provide exposure to several departments. This individual will work with all levels of management and department (mainly Operations, Process Engineering, Maintenance, Quality, EHS&S, and Supply Chain) to support problem solving activities and ensure sustainable solutions are implemented to prevent non-conformances from recurring.
Activities include but not be limited to:
  • Creating / enhancing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Work Instructions (WIs), and Quality Notices (QNs) as directed.
  • Secondary items will be on writing deviations, maintaining deviation log (mainly P&G), assisting and developing creative flaking belt training slides for the scented beads product line, as well as being an active participant in the weekly Gemba walks and supporting continuous improvement activities.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Education, Credentials, Licenses, Skill Sets
  • possess or be in pursuit of a bachelor's degree in engineering or another technical major.
  • be a creative and detail-oriented individual with a (preferred) technical background/experience,
  • have some technical writing skills,
  • have strong analytical skills,
  • be effective in capturing clear images/video to convey or supplement written work instructions,
  • be competent in the use of systematic problem-solving tools,
  • be a self-starting, results-oriented, flexible, team player,
PERFORMANCE MEASURES AND STANDARDS
  • Assist Quality Assurance and Operations to investigate through root cause analysis of quality issues, customer complaints, and/or product returns.
  • Improve monthly CAPA burndown rate (CAPA closure > CAPA generation).
  • Support the following company programs:
    • Document and record control for quality related processes
    • Quality internal auditing
    • Nonconformance, corrective/preventive action
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with minimal error, while maintaining a safety-first mentality.
  • Lead or support continuous improvement activities.
  • Follow all customer, regulatory, and quality requirements in the performance of all tasks as set forth in the company's policies and procedures.
  • Adhere to all Environmental, Health, Safety, and Security Requirements covered under Local State and Federal Regulations, follow all safety, environmental, and quality rules, and act and be safe at all times.
  • Other duties as requested by members of the Cremer leadership team.
