Payroll Specialist duties and responsibilities:
- Reviewing timesheets for accuracy
- Entering data into payroll software and spreadsheets
- Handling direct deposit requests and data transfers
- Processing paper payroll checks for distribution.
- Processing wage garnishments
- Process time, payroll, garnishment, and benefit reports.
- Manage vacation calculations for both unionized and non-unionized staff.
- Manage timekeeping technologies, software, and hardware.
- Training management staff – new hires and front-line staff on using payroll systems and app access.
- Adjusting pay for raises, bonuses, etc. based on company policies and specific contractual expectations.
- Payroll experience is desirable but not required.
- Some accounting experience is desirable but not required.
- Unbendable work ethic
- Exceptional attention to detail and organization
- Excellent mathematical and calculation skills
- Multi-Lingual needed with emphasis in Spanish and English – Verbal and Written
- Ability to work in a Team environment.
- Flexible personality
- Ability & desire to grow professionally.
- Understanding of different types of web-based payroll software systems. Preferably EPAY(Blueforce) and/or WinTeam.
- Ability to learn new processes and procedures as needed.
- Knowledge of payroll, taxes, garnishments, and benefits distribution
- Good research and analytical skills
