JOB DESCRIPTION

Hospital has an opportunity available for a full time Certified Surgical Scrub Technician (Scrub Tech) to work in our busy 8-bed Surgical Department. Surgical Services include Orthopedic, Dental, Optometric, General Surgery, Podiatry, Endoscopy, and OB-GYN.

Typical shifts are Monday through Friday, 8 hours per day, based on scheduled cases for the day. 1 in 4 call and 1 in 4 weekends is required.
The Surgical Technologist/scrub tech position will work as part of the operating room team in the OR, scrubbing the case, ensuring patient safety processes are in place and followed. In addition, this role sets up instruments, checks functioning of electronic/powered equipment, and works closely with surgeons, passing instruments and anticipating their equipment/instrument needs throughout the surgical case. Has an in-depth understanding of aseptic technique and sterile procedures, maintaining aseptic environment. Keep mayo stands and back tables neat and orderly to facilitate easy access to instruments and to facilitate quick and thorough counts. Knows the proper equipment for each procedure, as well as the ability to prepare equipment and supplies necessary to perform each procedure. Maintains the accuracy of all sponge, needle, and instrument counts. Assists with between case clean up and preparations for next case set ups. Returns equipment to its proper storage area when needed. Cleans and stocks ORs at the end of the day.
Education: 

• Associates Degree preferred

Experience:

• At least 1 year as a Scrub Technician in a hospital setting preferred

Licensure: 

• Surgical Technologist Certification required required per the state of NV

• Team Player all areas of the OR
• Experince as a surgical tech in a hospital setting is a plus
