Medical Receptionist/ Patient Accounts

Crescentworld Enterprises (CWE)‘s HeartPLUS Diagnostic Clinic is a multi-speciality medical clinic that works with the communities we serve to help attain optimal, life-long holistic health and well-being. The Medical Receptionist/Patient Account Specialist with the support of CWE administrative team, will provide the highest quality patient client care consistent with HeartPLUS Diagnostic Clinic’s Vision of Improving Health through Clinical Excellence and Compassion…Every Patient…. Every time! The Medical Receptionist provides direct, daily operational support in a manner consistent with Crescentworld Enterprises (CWE)/HeartPLUS Diagnostic Clinic’s Service Excellence Standards. The Receptionist will continually demonstrate Patient Centeredness, Teamwork, and Excellence in the daily performance of his/her duties. This position requires the ability to be self-motivated, flexible, punctual, detail oriented, have good time management skills and have excellent communication skills. This candidate for hire must be upbeat, friendly, outgoing and have excellent customer service skills. As the initial point of contact, the Receptionist is responsible for providing an extraordinary and memorable experience for each patient's visit. This role is responsible for maintaining patient flow, answering phones promptly and courteously, maintaining schedules and assisting in other office duties as assigned.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  • Punctuality
  • Providing excellent customer service
  • Greet patients
  • Answer phones
  • Verify current personal and financial information; updates information in electronic medical record accordingly
  • Scheduling appointments
  • Answer patient questions
  • Verifies coverage and eligibility on new patients by using internet, web portals or calling insurance company
  • Collect patient payments and maintain current patient account receivables (PAR) records
  • Assist with scheduling clinic visits, in-office procedures/test and outpatient surgeries
  • Pre- Appointment calls reminders
  • Set up clinic visit & treatment rooms as needed for visits; ensure rooms, supply closets and lab areas are clean, stocked and organized; maintain the lab and triage patient phone calls and visit needs
  • Patient call backs, prescription prior-authorizations
  • Perform any other duties assigned

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

Education:

High School Diploma or GED Required

Experience & Expectations:

  • Medical Office front desk 1-year or more experience in field strongly preferred or equivalent completion of formal training program with appropriate certification granted & training experience in modern electronic medical record (EMR) system use.
  • Experience working in a Cardiology, General Medicine, Behavioral Mental Health, and/or Physiotherapy environment or as a medical assistant is a plus but required
  • Positive and enthusiastic about work and the opportunity to help provide physician/NP with a terrific level of service
  • Willing to learn and open to new approaches in performing familiar tasks
  • Professional attitude to your work, including your personal manner, dress and timekeeping
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to build strong lasting relationships with your co-workers and participating physicians
  • Broad understanding of diversified insurance plans with experience obtaining insurance pre certifications and authorizations.
  • Strong collection experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of coding and medical terminology.
  • Maturity to withstand pressure that may arise in relation to the public and internal clinical operations.
