Pay Range
$108,700.00-$149,500.00 Annual
This is the base salary pay range that an applicant can expect to make upon hire. Pay within this range will vary based upon relevant experience, skills, and education among other factors. In addition, this position is eligible for an incentive bonus.
Johns Manville is currently seeking qualified applicants for the position of Tax Manager to be located in Denver, CO. This position does report to our Director of Tax. The Tax Manager's position will be responsible for international, federal, and state tax compliance, tax provision, financial statement disclosures, federal/state tax audits, and incentives analysis.
Ideal candidate will be a proven income tax professional with a results orientation. An ability to effectively work across the organization with all levels of employees is a must along with a proven ability to delegate.
Our office is in downtown Denver on 17th St. and California (717 17th St.) We are a hybrid work environment; two days work remote and 3 days in the office.

Your Day-to-Day:
  • Lead JM compliance function for international, federal, and state jurisdictions for accurate and timely filing of all returns and payments.
  • Collaborate with parent on all compliance, audits, planning, and provision matters
  • Manage preparation of JM quarterly and year-end financial statement tax provision and Berkshire Hathaway disclosure statements.
  • Responsible for federal and state income, franchise, net worth accruals, and estimated payments.
  • Oversee all phases of federal and state tax audits in coordination with parent company.
  • Manages a staff of 2 salary employees, sets direction and deploys resources. This includes managing performance, pay reviews, and hiring.
  • Manage and collaborate with business units on cross-border transfer pricing.
  • Manage compliance with OCED BEPS reporting requirements.
  • Conduct federal and state tax research and planning.
  • Assist business units in analysis of incentives for new capital additions and related new hires for income/franchise tax credits.
What You Bring to the Team:
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance
  • Master of Tax (MST) and CPA preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years corporate income tax experience, which should include experience managing other tax professional(s).
  • Provision experience strongly preferred.
  • Working knowledge of SAP or ERP systems.
  • Demonstrated results orientation.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and set direction for employees and projects.
  • Ability to interface effectively with all levels of the organization, both internally and externally.
