About the Job
Job Description:
The Hilton Anchorage Hotel is looking for a hardworking and energetic Line Cook to join our team.
We are the largest full-service hotel with 606 rooms located in downtown Anchorage. The hotel has a full-service restaurant, bar, room service, exercise room, indoor pool, and over 20,000 sq. ft of functional event space.
The Line Cook is responsible for preparatory work issued by the Executive Chef or Sous Chef. They will clean their station as it is necessary during the course of the shift as long as it does not interfere with their primary cooking duties.
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Clean food preparation areas, cooking surfaces, and utensils.
  • Cook food that is prepared to order.
  • Cook the items ordered by each customer, working on several different orders simultaneously.
  • Maintain sanitation, health, and safety standards in work areas.
  • Operate large-volume cooking equipment such as grills, deep-fat fryers, etc.
  • Read food order slips or receive verbal instructions and prepare and cook according to instructions.
  • Verify that prepared food meets all requirements for quality and quantity.
  • Wash, cut, and prepare foods designated for cooking.
  • Clean stock and restock workstations and display cases.
  • Able to lift 50 pounds.
  • Walk and stand for approximately 95% of your shift.
Minimum Requirements:
  • Ability to follow instructions, written and verbal, and perform the job with professionalism.
  • Ability to deal well with change and uncertainty and flexible enough to adapt and sensibly respond to the situation at hand.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and deploy available resources effectively.
  • Ability to produce a quality production on a consistent basis.
