Crete United is Hiring a BAS Software Technician Near Englewood, CO
Job DescriptionThe Software group is responsible for the development and implementation of the programming logic for building automation projects within the Controls division in assistance to other divisions within the company. The Software Technician IV will act as project lead for the Software efforts on each project that they are directly assigned. This position will act as a leader in the installation, startup, and commissioning of building automation system equipment for each project they are directly assigned. As a senior position within the Software group, it is the expectation of the management group that this individual possesses a mastery of all the skills/abilities of the previous titles (I, II, & III) to work either independently or to effectively delegate tasks to a junior tech(s) and oversee the work therein. The Software Tech IV will be responsible for the successful execution of the project with a focus on delivering a high-quality product to the end user while ensuring projects are completed within the projects’ schedules and budgets. Quality will be maintained in adherence to department standards and it is the responsibility of the Software Tech IV to assist the Software Manager in the development and implementation of these standards on every project to which they are assigned. Additionally, it is the expectation that the Software Technician IV will possess the knowledge, expertise, and ability to train and mentor junior techs within the Software group to support the growth and development of the company. Job Responsibilities
Act as project lead to ensure programming, commissioning, graphics, and owner training are completed on every project directly assigned
Creation of station programming for entire, large and complex building automation projects including writing programs, completing systems integration, creation of graphics, and networking
Attend project turnovers from Engineering to Install & Software after approved submittals are received
Review project documentation to become familiar with the project
Maintain service on projects through end of warranty period
Maintain and organize all Software project documentation throughout the life of each project directly assigned. Ensure all documentation is completed to company standards and appropriately archived in the project folder
Delegate project tasks to junior Software Techs as needed to maintain appropriate workload and to facilitate opportunities to teach/mentor junior techs.
Work under the direction of the Software Manager to effectively deliver multiple complex projects on time and to budget
Provide regular and timely project status updates to the Software Manager and Project Manager/Supervisor as needed to aid in the development of department/project schedules and to aid in the effective allocation of department/company resources
Collaborate with counterparts in the Controls division to ensure consistency of project delivery (ie: Engineering, Project Supervisors, Installers, etc)

Assist Software Manager in the support, training, and mentoring of junior Software Technicians
Assist the Software Manager in the development and implementation of training sessions/modules for junior Software Techs
Drive and implement rigorous quality standards for all aspects of the software delivery from initial concept to final commissioning and handover
Qualifications And Education Requirements
Five or more years’ experience working within the Building Automation industry
Experience of implementing building automation solutions and writing software code
Niagara AX/N4 certification
Knowledge of various BAS protocols (ie: BACnet, LONworks, Modbus, etc)
Knowledge of ethernet networking
Ability to read, interpret, and understand design and construction documents
Ability to work in a variety of circumstances (both in the office and the field) including but not limited
to: climbing ladders/scaffolds/high lift equipment, working on active construction sites
Ability to use and operate various hand and power tools
Must be 21 years of age and possess a valid driver’s license with limited violations
Preferred Skills
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, or related technical field
Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) and strong interpersonal skills
Proven leadership and motivation skills
Ability to motivate a team of Software Technicians
Able to communicate with customers at all levels and capable of managing their expectations
Solid working knowledge of common business computer applications (MS Word, Excel, etc.)
Strong planning and organization skills
Ability to drive a teamwork mentality
