Job Description: We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Accounting Specialist to join our finance team. The Accounting Specialist will play a crucial role in maintaining accurate financial records, assisting with financial reporting, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in accounting principles, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

• Perform day-to-day accounting tasks, including accounts payable/receivable, general ledger entries, and credit card reconciliations.
• Assist with month-end and year-end close processes, including preparing journal entries and reconciling accounts.
• Process expense reports and reimbursements in a timely manner.
• Assist in the preparation of financial statements and reports for management and external stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards, regulations, and company policies.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records and documentation.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support finance initiatives and projects.
• Provide support during audits by preparing audit schedules and responding to auditor inquiries.
• Identify areas for process improvements and implement best practices to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
• 5 years of experience in accounting or finance roles (Education included).
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP) and Microsoft Excel.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• CPA certification or progress towards certification (preferred).
