Summary/Objective
The Shop Worker performs a variety of material handling operations and duties to assist shearing, bending, receiving, shipping, warehousing and plant maintenance operations. Work involves a wide range of duties, including frequently working with others and receiving close direction from equipment operators and supervisors to minimize production delays.

Work Environment
Duties of this position will be performed primarily in the shop. The noise level in the work environment can be loud and may require hearing protection. The position regularly works near moving mechanical parts and in conditions that include inclement weather, heat and humidity, and exposure to dust and asphalt. The work environment has no air conditioning throughout the year. This positions requires the individual to wear all Company-issued safety gear in the work environment as outlined by the Company safety manual.
Physical Demands
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Shop duties could require lifting heavy objects, walking, sitting, balancing, and standing for long periods of time. The employee might be required to lift, push, pull or carry objects, climb, bend, or twist. Sometimes lift items up to 60 pounds. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and listen. The position requires good manual dexterity (hand, hand with arm, two hands) and multi-limb coordination. The position requires the ability to quickly move arms and legs. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Position Type
This is a full-time position and hours of work and days are Monday through Friday, hours determined by shift worked and location.
