Job Duties

We are looking for a Senior Consultant with financial services experience to help a large financial institution perform an end-to-end review of its stress testing framework, processes, systems, data, controls and governance. This person will be part of our global professional services team, which includes domain-led transformation services for banking and capital markets clients.

Your Role

The Senior Consultant role will support the review end-to-end review of the DFAST and Capital Planning forecasting processes and controls for our client. The individual in this role will be responsible for supporting a regulatory driven program consisting of a review of the DFAST and Capital Planning forecasting processes and controls, and evaluation of the adequacy and reasonableness of those controls. This person should understand the end-to-end DFAST process to perform review of: (1) adequacy of process mapping and documentation (2) control design, documentation and effectiveness (3) infrastructure adequacy (4) data management framework and assurance mechanisms (5) review and challenge(6) framework and policies (7) roles and responsibilities (8) governance mechanisms (9) documentation of models and as it relates to DFAST stress testing and capital forecasting processes at a large financial institution, related to residential mortgages.

Some key activities for this role include:

• Developing and implementing a comprehensive review plan to assess the effectiveness of an organization's DFAST and capital planning stress testing processes, governance, and controls
• Reviewing DFAST and capital planning stress testing framework, policies and procedures, leveraging your industry knowledge and best practices and identifying gaps / opportunities for improvement.
• Reviewing the current roles and responsibilities, across three lines of defense, for personnel involved in the DFAST/ Capital forecasting process for consistency and alignment with policies, standards, and best practices
• Reviewing adequacy of documentation of models and methodology used in DFAST/ Capital forecasting process.
• Reviewing of existing controls in the DFAST process including assessment of control design and control effectiveness
• Assessing effectiveness of the current review and challenge process of the stress test / capital forecasting results
• Assessing client's data quality framework and controls policies, procedures, and practices, leveraging the latest technologies and tools
• Defining a client's 'to-be' state, which will involve the design of Governance and Controls Target Operating Models (TOM) through which data and systems are efficiently managed within the organization
• Developing a comprehensive report detailing findings, recommendations, and suggested action plans for process enhancement
• Supporting a team in driving the delivery of all engagement deliverables, supporting engagement management (including administrative tasks), providing hands-on engagement delivery and oversight, and interacting with senior client stakeholders / sponsors

Skills Required

• Hands experience in risk management, risk governance, stress testing, capital forecasting and data quality management services for financial services clients
• Extensive understanding of regulations involving DFAST and capital planning stress testing activities
• Hands on experience drafting risk governance policies, procedures, and standards
• Hands on experience in conducting process reviews, control design and effectiveness review
• Experience in drafting framework, policies and procedures for stress testing
• Experience in designing target operating model for stress testing / capital forecasting process.
• Strong understanding of Stress Test Governance principles and familiarity with processes, policies, and any of the key vendor platforms
• Extensive understanding of residential single family and multi-family homes including interest rate changes, etc.
• Experience setting outcome-focused objectives, developing project plans, managing execution and creation of deliverables, and tracking and presenting progress towards stated objectives
• Data-driven and analytical mindset to understand the business context and make the right decisions
• Experience coordinating across multiple groups of client stakeholders across different functions, business units, etc. to drive towards a common goal
• Superior verbal and written communications skills and history of teamwork
• Hands on experience designing and development Microsoft SharePoint sites
• B.S. in Business Management, Financial Services, MIS, Information Management, Computer Science, or related field (M.S. or MBA preferred).
