Community Action Council Lewis, Mason, and Thurston Counties is Hiring a Weatherization Auditor Near Lacey, WA

Job Description

Job Description

Are you ready to make a meaningful impact in the Lewis, Mason, and Thurston Counties community? Join us at the Community Action Council (CACLMT) and become a driving force in our Weatherization Program! We're seeking a motivated and dedicated individual to join our Weatherization Team as a Weatherization Auditor. In this role, you will have a hands-on role in helping to improve the lives of community members by helping to make their homes more energy efficient, healthier and cozier. As a Weatherization Auditor, you can feel good about the work you do. Improving our community housing stock helps the clients that we serve, and it also benefits society at large and has positive environmental impacts by helping to conserve energy and improve the health of our communities.

At the Community Action Council…  We are committed to curiosity and cultivating an organizational culture that creates room for and nurtures creativity in how we do our work, how we meet the needs of the communities we serve, and how we support each individual we work with. We recognize that to embody being anti-poverty and anti-racist in the communities we serve, we must disrupt practices that have created harm to individuals, organizations, and communities to be a beacon of truth. We meet people where they are, listen to their needs, believe their lived experiences, are committed to seeing the whole person, and to walk with them on their journeys. We believe that all people deserve to feel deeply rooted belonging and we center our teams and clients in every decision we make. We understand that what we do today creates the foundation for tomorrow. We lead with transparency and an eye to the future to promote a better, more equitable landscape for all. We create spaces where joy can thrive, where full belly laughs are heard, and where people feel hopeful for tomorrow.

As a Weatherization Auditor , you will work as a project manager, overseeing home improvement projects that transform low-income housing into healthy, safe, energy-efficient, high-performance buildings. Our auditors use their training and expertise to inspect homes and identify energy-wasting home components and use advanced diagnostic equipment to test them. They then write up work orders calling out such measures as air-sealing, insulation, ventilation and heating systems upgrades. Auditors may also identify needed minor home improvement projects like siding repair, floor repair, roof repairs, and door/window replacements. Auditors then support CAC install crews and contractors as they perform work on homes. Auditors work with clients to keep them informed of the schedule and of project progress. As the project nears completion, the auditor works with the quality control inspector to aid in closing out the project.

What makes this role special? There is never a dull moment in the Weatherization department! Our work takes us to multiple homes per week, so the sights are constantly changing. Not only are we always moving to new locations, but the work orders and challenges that they present also change job to job. We pride ourselves on doing high-quality work for our clients. Our Auditors go home at the end of every day knowing that they have touched the lives of our clients.
