Cristo Rey Boston is Hiring a Dean of Students Near Dorchester, MA

Dean of Students The Dean of Students reports to the Assistant Principal of Student Life. They are responsible for fostering a positive and productive school environment by ensuring compliance with the school’s conduct expectations, promoting respectful and ethical behavior, and coordinating campus safety. You will manage the day-to-day behavior programs for the school and establish strong, mutually respectful relationships with students and families. This position is a visible presence in all areas of the school. It is responsible for all issues relating to the students at school, including their academic and social-emotional well-being. Essential Functions Student Conduct Coordinate school efforts to create positive and productive student behavior Collaborate with the Assistant Principal and Work-Study Program Director regarding student conduct issues on campus and at work sites Collaborate with the Assistant Principals to foster academic achievement and ensure academic integrity Support with students' arrival and dismissal Communicate and meet with parents regarding student performance and/or conduct Maintain student discipline and follow through with documentation Supervise detention Supervise compliance with cell phone policy Supervise compliance with the dress code Create and oversee Student Behavior Contracts Collaborate with counseling staff to support students facing personal and academic challenges Support teachers to resolve differences in communication with parents and students Coordinate individualized student academic support interventions Collaborate with all members of the Student Affairs team and other departments Safety and Security Oversee investigation of any violations of personal property and safety Maintain student locker combinations and assignments Collaborates with local schools if needed Attendance and Enrollment Track student discipline infractions and coordinate daily detention list Coordinate meetings with students and parents regarding excessive absences and tardies Conduct exit meetings with students and parents when they withdraw or are dismissed and collect school materials, including textbooks, electronic devices, and uniforms Qualifications Relationship-building skills An ability to effectively analyze data to improve student achievement Able to exercise excellent judgment and decision-making Excellent oral and written communication skills Ability to work independently with diverse constituents while maintaining high professional standards Exemplary organizational skills along with the ability to establish and manage multiple priorities and the ability to work under pressure Attention to detail and accuracy Bachelor's degree is required 3-5 Years of experience working with youth age children Spanish fluency preferred Research suggests that qualified women and Black & Indigenous POC may self-select out of opportunities if they don't meet 100% of the job requirements.
