We are currently seeking a dynamic Business Development Director dedicated to the Finance markets—including Banking, Financial Services, Insurance, Fintech and Insurtech.

The ideal candidate will be pragmatic, disciplined, and well-organized, capable of working autonomously to efficiently develop and execute both tactical and strategic business development plans aimed at expanding our business across the European market, with a specific emphasis on the DACH region and Portugal.

In this role, you will be supported by a dedicated team based in Germany and Portugal, equipped to aid your success and bolster our rapid growth. Are you the visionary Business Development Director we are searching for?

What do we expect from you?

  • Strategic Development: Craft and execute a sound strategy to enhance the business pipeline and market growth.
  • Leadership: Lead and empower a sales team to effectively implement the sales strategy.
  • Business Development: Formulate and execute robust business development plans and market propositions with a strong focus on winning new logos.
  • Relationship Management: Proactively follow up on new business opportunities and leads. Develop and nurture strong relationships with potential clients, presenting compelling propositions and closing deals.
  • Market Expertise: Maintain an in-depth understanding of the market dynamics. Pay special attention to key accounts and engage actively in networking events and activities that lead to new opportunities and increased sales. Understand and use the power of social media for business purposes.
  • Account Management: Establish and maintain close relationships with key stakeholders within major accounts, particularly in the Finance sector, including Banking, Financial Services, and Insurance.
  • Presentation Skills: Plan and deliver engaging presentations and demonstrations to showcase capabilities and solutions.

What makes you a good candidate for this role?

  • Extensive Experience: Bring over 15 years of experience in business development, preferably in enterprise solutions, technology, software services, and consulting
  • Industry Expertise: Have a deep understanding of and experience in the Finance market.
  • Technical Acumen: Possess a fundamental understanding of or a keen interest in software development.
  • Financial Proficiency: Strong capability to understand financial structures and develop deals from a financial perspective.
  • Negotiation and Contract Management: Proven experience in contract management and robust negotiating skills.
  • Relationship Building: demonstrating enthusiasm and ease in building relationships and networking autonomously, while also capable of supporting peers within their team.
  • Language Skills: Fluent in English
  • Travel Flexibility: Willingness to undertake regular travel within the EU and occasional travels overseas.
