Job Description : The Orbital Operator / Welder plays a vital role in meticulously welding, cutting, and assembling metal parts in strict accordance with work orders, blueprints, and verbal instructions.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Familiarity with orbital welding system to develop competency in how to weld metal parts according to work orders, blueprint layouts, and verbal instructions.
  • Familiarization with gas flow characteristics
  • Competency with basic department functions, including but not limited to the fundamentals of orbital welding overall.
  • Follow blueprints to meet product specifications and maintain tight tolerances.
  • Wear Personal Protective Equipment as required by job detail.
  • Participate in training provided by seasoned employees to learn basic department functions.
  • Maintains awareness of workload and plans workflow accordingly.
  • Maintain tools, gauges, and equipment in a clean, orderly, and safe manner.
  • Comply with company policies and procedures, paying special attention to safety requirements.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications and Skills :

  • High School Diploma or equivalent work experience.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to focus on and complete assigned tasks in a timely fashion.
  • Ability to follow guidelines to ensure a safe and efficient work environment.
  • Always maintains a professional approach with internal and external customers.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Basic math skills needed (ability to perform basic calculations with or without a calculator).
  • Ability to read blueprints and knowledge of mechanical applications.
