Croft Hospitality is Hiring a Staff Accountant Near Rochester, MN

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Prepare and post adjusting journal entries.
  • Prepare and/or review intercompany invoices.
  • Verify the accuracy of accounts payable invoices entered by the Staff Accountant and post accounts payable invoices to the general ledger.
  • Complete tasks related to the daily income audit, including sales tax reconciliations, food and beverage outlet reconciliations, and reviewing/posting daily report activity.
  • Prepare and/or review bi-weekly payroll processing, payroll journal entries, and related reconciliations.
  • Perform month-end closing tasks, including verifying the accuracy of month-end inventories, ensuring that occupancy and sales tax are balanced monthly, preparing monthly accounts receivable invoices, and posting monthly accruals.
  • Prepare and/or review monthly balance sheet reconciliations and related schedules for assigned entities.
  • Prepare and/or review monthly sales, use, and occupancy tax filings.
  • Assist with researching and resolving account variances.
  • Assist with providing comprehensive training to all hotel managers and staff to ensure all accounting policies and procedures are being properly adhered to.
  • Assist with establishing, documenting, and maintaining standard accounting policies and procedures and internal controls for finance and accounting operations.
  • Complete daily bank deposits as a backup to the Staff Accountant.
  • Work with the Corporate Director of Finance on budgeting and year-end audit requests.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance required.
  • Minimum 5 years of work experience in accounting required.
  • Prior work experience in the lodging industry is a plus, but not required.
  • Advanced knowledge of the MS Office Suite, and experience with property management and/or account reconciliation software is a plus.
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with an ability to communicate effectively with onsite and offsite stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Work independently with little direction.
  • Professional in demeanor and appearance.
