Position Summary:
The Foundation has an exciting learning opportunity available for an Intern to help with project and data management in our SPARC IBD Research Cohort. Under the supervision of the cohort’s Director, this is a chance to work within a leading non-profit organization to gain firsthand knowledge on research operations, administration and data reporting that help an organization accomplish its mission.
This role would provide exposure in the field of Scientific Affairs. We are seeking someone for this internship who is energetic, detailed oriented and a self-starter with strong inter-personal and communication skills. Their overarching responsibility will be to support the SPARC IBD Research Cohort team in managing projects around data clean up and multi-study enrollment.
This is an 6-month Internship opportunity, ending 12/31/24 with approximately 20 hours/week anticipated.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
Candidate must have a Bachelor’s degree and be seeking to earn a Master’s in Health Sciences or related field.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Knowledge of Microsoft Office is required.
Must be pro-active, self-directed, detail-oriented and organized, as well as work independently in a virtual setting.
Comfortable digesting primary scientific literature.
Past experience and/or strong interest in writing about science for a nonscientific audience.
Ability to interact professionally with multiple and diverse cross-functional stakeholders e.g., Foundation staff, researchers, etc.
Ability to prioritize, work under pressure and meet deadlines (with supervision).
