Job Summary:

The Product Development Specialist for Crosley Furniture will be responsible for managing the product life cycle for furniture products. They will assist in analyzing and developing opportunities involving new products and categories and continually investigate enhancements to the current product line to respond to changing market demands.

• Manage day-to-day execution of the furniture product development process including, but not limited to:
• Identify strategic new product opportunities through constant market research, as well as collaboration with Crosley sales team and customer base
• Facilitate the new concept review, sample review, and final review/ordering meetings to actively manicure our furniture product assortment; responsible for preparing review sheets and ordering templates
• Prepare Requests for quotes (RFQ), including direction on target FOBs, dimensions, design and materials
• Create new product mockups as necessary
• Monitor and respond to changes on weekly furniture PD sheets, ensuring products are flowing through the PD pipeline in a timely manner
• Help select colors, hardware, wood and metal finishes, and other design details for each new product
• Closely collaborate with the sourcing team to ensure the intended PD strategy is executed with factory partners
• Propose model numbers and kit configurations, providing new product information to ensure all new items are correctly built-in Crosley systems in a timely manner
• Complete final pricing templates for all new items
• Provide information and guidance on product photography, video, and copy to ensure PD strategy is executed through marketing assets
• Maintain materials database and swatches, including keeping swatches organized, updating the materials database, and requesting missing swatches from the sourcing team
• Assist the sales team with opportunities to enhance key accounts through targeted product development as needed
• May require travel, both domestic and internationally for tradeshows, factory visits, and customer visits
• Other responsibilities as assigned 

Requirements

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Proficient in Microsoft Office (familiarity with Excel)

Required Education and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree

Preferred Education and Experience:

• Previous experience in a product development role for furniture/décor or other consumer goods
• Experience with photography/styling
• Experience with Photoshop
• Experience with Rhino, Sketch-up or similar CAD or 3D modeling software

Physical Requirements:

• Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
• Visual acuity 
• Must be able to lift up to 10 pounds at times
