As a dialysis technician, also called a hemodialysis technician, you will administer dialysis to patients who have kidney disease under the supervision of a nurse or physician. Working in a hospital, home health agency, dialysis center or other healthcare facility, you'll prepare the dialysis machine, explain the process to patients, monitor them during treatment, maintain sterile procedures, keep accurate records and more. You'll play a critical role in preventing illness, promoting health and wellness, and educating patients and their families.
