Salary Range: $150,000 - $220,000 SummaryCross Country has partnered with hospital in northeastern MA that is in search for a permanent Controller / Senior Director of Fiscal Services. The Controller will oversee and manage key functions within the Fiscal Services department, including patient financial services, central billing, patient access, accounting, accounts payable, and payroll. The Controller will join a very collaborative group and report directly to the CFO. Responsibilities
Align department goals with the Hospital's strategic and annual operating plans.
Review monthly and annual financial statements and ensure compliance with quarterly debt reporting.
Develop financial strategies, identify cost-saving opportunities, and monitor budget performance.
Plan, train, supervise, and evaluate staff, ensuring adherence to GAAP and compliance with local, state, and federal reporting requirements.
Oversee the preparation of tax returns, manage accounts payable, payroll processes, and coordinate insurance policy renewals.
Prepare for and coordinate year-end and periodic audits, and continually improve internal controls.
Assist in preparing annual operating budgets and participate in financial and compliance committees.
Perform periodic audits and update fiscal policies and procedures.
Research and implement best practices for Accounts Payable and Payroll processes.
Perform other duties and special projects as assigned by the CFO or Executive Vice President of Fiscal Services.
Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting required. Master’s Degree preferred.
10 years of experience in healthcare accounting required
Previous auditing experience preferred
CPA licensure preferred, but not required
Must be extremely well organized and have the ability to handle competing priorities
Advanced Microsoft Word & Excel skills.
Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills.
Advanced interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.
