Job DescriptionMedical BillerWe are hiring experienced Medical Billing (Medical Biller) professionals for a Family Health Center that is dedicated to providing quality healthcare to undeserved community members in Culver City. If you are looking for a new opportunity and meet the below requirements, we want to speak to you today!
  • Mon-Fri Schedule
  • 8 hour day shifts
  • Must have 2 years of experience in a healthcare setting or billing certification.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Attends finance meetings or other meetings as necessary or required by billing supervisors
  • Reviews claims for completeness of information and required documents, checks billing. information and charges for correctness; types bill as necessary to include pertinent. information, adjustments, late charges, and other related data.
  • Consult with providers, financial screeners and medical assistants, if necessary, if encounters and incomplete or insufficient for billing.
  • Coordinates the paper/document flow related to billing and patient accounts, including but not limited to the correlation of records and registration information and forwarding of specific billing information to third party billing and follow-up.
  • Process all tickets and or encounter on a timely basis.
  • Makes adjustments or corrections on claims that were denied due to missing information or change in patient status; retypes bills as necessary or resubmits claims to appropriate funding sources.
  • Posts remittance advices on a timely basis.
  • Review, investigate and correct denials, then rebill accordingly within 2-3 days of receipt of Explanation of Benefits or Remittance Advise.
  • Monitors and reconcile third party insurance remittance and cash collections.
  • Responds to patient inquiries regarding billing concerns.
  • Requests documentation from other sources, as appropriate. Well versed in collecting and billing of governmental programs. Imperative that candidate has full knowledge of governmental collection regulations and guidelines.
  • Perform follow-up calls and written correspondence to patients and payers as needed.
  • Maintain records, logs, and other documentation required to track account statuses Perform other duties that maybe assigned from time to time.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour
