Job Summary:
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professional to provide assistance and support to individuals in need. The ideal candidate will have experience working with individuals with autism and possess a nurturing attitude.
Duties:
- Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, and grooming
- Support individuals with autism in their daily routines and activities
- Provide emotional support and companionship to residents
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all residents
- Administer first aid when necessary
- Perform heavy lifting tasks as required
- Maintain a clean and organized living environment for residents
- Uphold resident rights and dignity at all times
Experience:
- Previous experience in a nursing home or private home setting is preferred
- Ability to lift and transfer residents safely
- Familiarity with working with individuals with autism
- Knowledge of basic nursing procedures is a plus
Requirements:
- Must be able to perform heavy lifting tasks
- Compassionate and patient demeanor
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Comfortable with pets
