Minimum
  • 2 days per week in the office
Responsibilities For COE Field Engineer
  • Perform Field Engineering and Vendor Management roles in the New York City area
  • Responsible for engineering and installing the Domestic US Core Networks: Intelligent Edge Network (iEN), Unified Transport, Voice and Data, and Internal Data Core networks
  • Engineer and manage multiple simultaneous projects, from issuance of required Engineering documentation through managing the entire installation lifecycle
  • Build technologies associated with Telecommunication's Core Inside Plant networks including: Multi-Service Edge (MSE), ROADM, Voice Over IP, and supporting network ancillary and infrastructure equipment
  • Utilize multiple systems and tools like ICON, CoFEE, CCP, vSAP, and Venue
Functional Responsibilities For COE Field Engineer
  • Engineer detailed, often complex, network builds for new and existing technologies
  • Assist with ordering equipment/cables/hardware via appropriate systems (CCP, SRM...)
  • Coordinate/project manage project-specific installation designs and physical installations across multiple initiatives (installs, reconfigurations, decommissions, FOA)
  • Engineer/manage database updates (ICON, CoFEE, CCP, etc), equipment configurations, card/port assignments, power mapping, cable running lists, floor space, rack placement, detailed BOM
  • Interface with Operations and other Implementation organizations for site surveys, pre-engineering data, post-installation redlines, end of job audits
  • Negotiate, coordinate, drive/track project milestones with stakeholders, including third-party turf vendors
  • Facilitate and maintain relationships with service vendors, pricing compliance, standards, quality reviews, remediation, performance reviews
  • Identify, monitor, report, escalate, resolve technical issues throughout engineering and build process
  • Verify installations comply with applicable practices like IP72202
  • Manage multiple projects & budgets, provide timely reporting, coordinate with Planning, Vendor Technical Management, Program Management
Requirements FOR COE Field Engineer
  • Bachelor's degree or four or more years of work experience
  • Six or more years of relevant work experience
  • Experience in Telecom Engineering and Network Implementation
  • Willingness to travel to and work at various Telecommunication equipment buildings in the New York City region
Preferred
  • A degree
  • Leadership, self-starter with strong management and organizational skills
  • Highly organized and able to manage multiple, often conflicting priorities
  • Solid understanding of telecom networking, networks, technologies, equipment designs, configurations, inventory
  • Strong technical, project management, PC, software application skills (Windows, MS Office)
  • Excellent verbal, written, inter-organizational communication skills
  • Strong leadership and management track record
  • Engineering, Planning, and/or Ops knowledge, especially with Telecommunication Networks
  • Past experience with ICON, SiteVU, Venue, CCP, CoFEE, nSAP, vSAP, SRM, expense/capital budgets
