Crossroads Center for Children, located in Schenectady, NY, is looking to fill immediate openings for Special Education Teacher Assistants. We are looking for staff who are fun loving, life-long learners, committed, and determined to help students achieve their best. Crossroads serves students following principles of Applied Behavior Analysis. ABA is an empirically based science that is used to analyze the relationship between a child and their environment and improve socially significant behavior. We stress positively reinforcing appropriate behaviors and replacing challenging behaviors with functional communication. Experience working with children with Autism Spectrum Disorders is preferred, but not required.
Job description includes:
· helping children to work on individual goals such as academic, social, and play goals
· working on daily living skills such as feeding, dressing, and toileting
· assisting with planning and preparing for daily activities such as art, music, and movement
· collaborating as a team member to help students to reach their goals

New York State Certification as a Teacher Assistant is required within the first 6 months of employment. Positions start ASAP.
