Job SummaryThe Crossroads voice is a critical part of our mission, teaching our community about Jesus in a language they can understand, and in a language that’s compelling and inviting to them. Our design efforts within a regular weekend service are often the first expressions of Crossroads our design target sees. This role exists to consistently craft their voice for the medium and the situation, to create a winsome introduction to our community. Working alongside the design team, this person primarily brands our ministries and initiatives while bringing these to life through our Marketing and Social media tools that we have available. As a Senior level designer, this role is meant to help maintain the voice of Crossroads throughout our communities.
This role reports to the Design Director and collaborates with the Marketing and Studio Teams.
Principal Duties & ResponsibilitiesResponsible for ownership of the following with excellence (“ownership” defined as oversight of the entire process, from concept to execution):
- Ministry Branding
- Marketing and Social initiative branding and landscape design.
- Creating high-level design experiences outside of the weekend experience including developing sub-brands, and event branding.
- Degree in Graphic Design or commensurate experience is preferred
- 5-7 years in graphic design or similar field
- Deep understanding of print design
- Deep understanding of digital design
- Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite, specifically Illustrator, InDesign, and Photoshop
- Must love Helvetica, and soon, Berthold Akzidenz Grotesk
- Must love Jesus
- A genius at creating on demand
- Strong creative instincts that align with the Crossroads brand
- Ability to cast creative vision and present concepts to creatives and ministry leaders alike
- Meets deadlines
- A great team player
- Ability to find clarity in unclear situations
- Ability to work nimbly and effectively with teams across staff
- Performs effectively under pressure and against strict time constraints.
- Mouse clicking
- Must be able to lift 14 to 50 lbs.
- Travel as needed for special projects and team training events (e.g., conferences, visiting sites when needed)
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule including weekdays, weekends and other high impact events at Crossroads.
