Crossroads Louisiana, Inc., a progressive, New Orleans-based non-profit that provides supported independent living (SIL) support services to adults with intellectual disabilities, has an opening for a Medical Administrative Assistant. The position is full-time and includes health insurance, bonuses, 401k matching, vacation and sick day benefits.
Position Summary:
· Ensure individuals receive continuance of specified health care as deemed appropriate
o Liaise between client, team, pharmacy, nurses, physicians, insurance companies, etc.
· Schedule medical appointments and prepare medical visitation packets to accompany clients on each appointment
· Compile and organize information from appointments in data sheets
· Monitor all online portals
· Work collaboratively with all management team members to create an environment that supports the facility’s mission to provide the best support services and skills training to people with disabilities in the New Orleans area.
Qualifications:
· High school diploma or equivalent, college degree is preferred
· Proficient in Microsoft Office®
· Have (3) work-related references
· Reliable transportation
· Pass a criminal background check
· Complete COVID-19 vaccination
· Previous supervisory experience preferred

Essential Job Functions
· Reports to Qualified Intellectual Disabilities Professional (QIDP)
· Ensures necessary medications are delivered to specific clients
· Maintain medical files for each client – ensure accuracy and completeness
· Maintains accurate scheduling information in program for each client
o Prepare an appointment list each week for the Supervisory Team
· Works closely with SIL QIDP and RN(s) in solving medical issues – keeping everyone apprised of medication changes in a timely manner
· Orders necessary medical supplies
· Takes initiative to express ideas and problem solutions to others, including management, verbally and/or in writing
· Completes assigned work in an acceptable manner, in the time allotted, with minimal prompting or reminders
· Interact with clients, staff, and external entities professionally and respectfully.
· Maintains confidentiality of information related to employees and clients
· Some weekend phone calls to QIDP, pharmacy, and/or RN(s) as necessary
· Other duties as assigned
