What is an AR / Collections Specialist?

The Accounts Receivable / Collection Specialist primary responsibility will be to make collection calls to customers. He / She will also post and reconcile payments using various software programs.

He / she will also mail monthly statements. He / she will establish relationships with clients to pursue payments and post them on accounts.

What will a typical day look like for you?

  • Make daily collection calls
  • Conduct account research and analysis
  • Accurately post payments to customers accounts using Alliant
  • Reconcile and resolve account discrepancies
  • Maintain spreadsheets using strict confidence with customer credit card information and check-by-phone information
  • Send statements to outstanding customers
  • Interact with customers to resolve outstanding issues
  • Print monthly aging and post results
  • Sort and file documents after posting

Qualifications

  • High school diploma required, or GED
  • Minimum 2 years' experience with AR or Collections
  • Must have good basic skills in mathematics
  • Speedy, accurate data entry skills
  • Ability to perform mathematical computations such as percentages, fractions, addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division quickly and with accuracy
  • Basic accounting principles knowledge
