Senior AWS DevOps Engineer
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior AWS DevOps Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will lead IT specialists in maintaining and improving our software infrastructure using Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) practices. You will collaborate with software engineers, QA, data, and AI engineers to evolve, deploy, automate, and manage our software infrastructure. Your responsibilities will include defining and setting up CI/CD pipelines, monitoring systems, and optimizing the cloud infrastructure to meet business objectives, security, and compliance requirements. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of cloud computing technologies, cloud architecture, and enterprise-scale solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement scalable, secure, and reliable AWS cloud solutions.
• Collaborate with product owners, developers, and other stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into cloud architecture.
• Develop and maintain infrastructure as code (IaC) using tools such as AWS CloudFormation, Terraform, or Ansible.
• Design and implement CI/CD pipelines for software in all environments.
• Ensure cloud solutions adhere to industry best practices and compliance requirements.
• Implement and manage security controls, identity, and access management in AWS.
• Create and administer monitoring systems to drive high-availability, alerting, and oversight of software application performance.
• Drive continuous improvement by proposing and implementing new solutions and practices.
• Automate software deployments, configurations, and keep-current processes for all environments within the infrastructure.
• Triage and solve software infrastructure issues and involve required teams to collaborate to a positive result for the business.
• Lead the migration of existing on-premises applications to the AWS cloud.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to engineering teams on best practices and cloud strategies.

Qualifications
Technical Skills

• Subject Matter Expert in AWS, including professional experience architecting and operating solutions built on cloud technologies
• Develop and maintain Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery systems
• Experience with code/configuration management, and pipeline setup
• Experience with IaC (Infrastructure as Code)
• Ability to lead, mentor and motivate those around them

• Ability to perform project oversight and execution of deliverables

Experience

• Graduate/post-graduate degree in Computer Science, related field, or job experience
• 5 years of DevOps experience or related work
• Practicing & knowledgeable Agile SDLC experience in software development
• 5 years of CI/CD experience leveraging tools, scripting, and code (i.e. Jenkins, CircleCI, Python, Bash, Ruby) or similar with a desire for learning additional technologies
• 3 years of experience implementing and deploying monitoring and logging tools across AWS environments (Dev, QA, UAT, Staging, Prod)
• Experience in the determination, definition, set-up, configuration, and implementation of AWS for the business as the administrator and oversight for all permissible security per policy
• Knowledgeable in AWS services costs and identifying triggers for on/off to drive lowest-cost-operational infrastructure where possible

Certifications Requirements

• AWS Certified DevOps Engineer Professional or equivalent certification required.
• Additional AWS certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Advanced Networking, and Security) are a plus.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with the following monitoring tools (Datadog, Grafana, ELK stack).
• Experience migrating applications from on-prem to cloud platforms.
