Job Description

The Desktop Support Intern is responsible for supporting IT processes by leveraging technology to assist end users, preparing PCs for business utilization, and ensuring optimum performance of existing systems to ensure the business is achieving its goals. We are looking for someone with a Desktop Support mindset to help provide excellent customer service to our employees. This position will primarily focus on PC buildouts, but will also have opportunities to assist in the day to day operation of the helpdesk. If you are dedicated, ambitious, and have a knack for technology and fixing computer related issues, Seneca is an excellent place to gain some solid IT experience which will be invaluable in your future career goals.

What you will do for C&F:

  • Install and configure computer systems and applications within the company.
  • Install hardware (computers, monitors, etc.) as directed
  • Assist in technical upgrading and maintaining desktop systems.
  • Assist the team as an initial point of contact for computer and system related concerns from employees via phone queries, email, or helpdesk tickets.
  • Maintain a high degree of customer service and adhere to all service management principles.
  • Take ownership of technology problems and be proactive in finding resolutions.
  • Assist in resolving hardware/software issues for end users.
  • Assist in the coordination with vendors to resolve technical issues with desktops and software.
  • Work on IT projects as directed by management.
  • Troubleshoot mobile devices, configure new devices.
  • Work with other team member in the creation of images for desktop and laptops.
  • Ability to lift up to 30 lbs.

What you will bring to C&F:

  • Some knowledge of desktop applications and client services on cloud, mobile, traditional desktop configurations, and desktop virtualization technologies, including Citrix and VMware.
  • Some working knowledge of Microsoft based operating systems, including troubleshooting Microsoft Office and Outlook within a network environment.
  • Any Microsoft and relevant technical certifications and education desirable.
  • Willingness to learn or experience handling remote VPN access technology, two-factor authentication and troubleshooting.
  • Willingness to learn or experience working with networked printers, including installing, troubleshooting, and servicing.
  • Some experience working with different operating systems including Windows and Mac OS
  • Some knowledge of Mobile devices including iPhone and Android messaging services and troubleshooting.

  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.

The annualized base pay for the advertised position, located in the specified area, ranges from a minimum of $18.00 to a maximum of $25.00. The actual compensation is determined by various factors, including but not limited to the market pay for the jobs at each level, the responsibilities and skills required for each job, and the employee’s contribution (performance) in that role. To be considered within market range, a salary is at or above the minimum of the range. You may also have the opportunity to participate in discretionary equity (stock) based compensation and/or performance-based variable pay programs
