Job DescriptionWe are seeking a highly skilled IFRS 17 Risk Integrity Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the integrity and accuracy of financial reporting under the IFRS 17 framework.
The Financial Services Group of Crum & Forster (C&F) is looking for a IFRS 17 Risk Integrity Specialist, with some exposure to accounting and the insurance industry, to join the IFRS 17 Reporting Group and be a key team member of a group specializing on the new accounting standard - IFRS 17 - Insurance Contracts . The individual will be responsible for Risk Integrity, a cloud-based software for IFRS 17 calculation as well as Risk Integrity User Interface (“RIUI”). The candidate will work closely with key stakeholders and subject matter experts to ensure the completeness and accuracy of IFRS 17 reporting based on the instructions received from Fairfax Financial Holdings Limited, our parent company (“FFH”). The Risk Integrity Specialist should be proactive, a quick learner, a team player, be able to handle a fast paced environment, take responsibility for work and have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
LOCATION: Morristown New Jersey or Remote; we currently have a flexible office/remote working arrangement. Some work in the office is anticipated.
What You Will Do
  • Responsible for Moody’s Risk Integrity and RIUI (“Risk Integrity User Interface”) including the completeness and accuracy of inputs/output files.
  • Run Risk Integrity during the quarter close in a timely manner.
  • Be proficient with Risk Integrity input files, terminologies, variables, and runs.
  • Keep current with annual Risk Integrity version upgrade and monthly patch upgrades. Perform regression testing as needed and generate organized documentation.
  • Trouble shoot Risk Integrity Issues that come across on the team.
  • Participate in Moody’s Risk Integrity trainings, review the release documentation, and work with Finance IT team to reflect necessary changes.
  • Maintain RIUI and Application Programming Interfaces (“API”).
  • Be knowledgeable about the sources where the Risk Integrity Input data for Premium and Losses is derived from
  • Be familiar with Risk Integrity Data Dictionary, Risk and Issue Logs and Defect Logs.
  • Evaluate design of automated controls in accordance with the Sarbanes-Oxley Act of 2002.
  • Read and understand IFRS 17 technical accounting papers provided by Fairfax.
  • Work with Fairfax’s Project Manager to support Risk Integrity Version and Environment Upgrades.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including finance, actuarial, and IT to ensure accounting treatment is being adhered to for all accounting guidelines within the IFRS 17 standard, as well as instructions given by FFH.
  • Work with the Governance and compliance team to warrant user access controls for Risk Integrity and RIUI.
Technological RequirementsWhat YOU will bring to C&F:
  • Intermediate skills in Excel, Word and Outlook (VLOOKUP, Pivot Table, Power BI, SUMIF preferred).
  • Some exposure and knowledge of general ledger software is a plus.
  • Some exposure and knowledge of SQL is a plus.

  • Strong Property and Casualty Insurance Knowledge is preferred
  • Professional certification and insurance designations is preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, actuarial/data science, or a related field.

Salary ranges are available for all positions at this location, taking into account roles with a comparable level of responsibility and impact in the relevant labor market and these salary ranges are regularly reviewed and adjusted in accordance with prevailing market conditions. The annualized base pay for the advertised position, located in the specified area, ranges from a minimum of $61,900.00 to a maximum of $103,100.00. The actual compensation is determined by various factors, including but not limited to the market pay for the jobs at each level, the responsibilities and skills required for each job, and the employee’s contribution (performance) in that role. To be considered within market range, a salary is at or above the minimum of the range. You may also have the opportunity to participate in discretionary equity (stock) based compensation and/or performance-based variable pay programs.
